There are several different species, both known and unknown, that inhabit the universe. As such, there are a variety of different languages used throughout the cosmos.

General

These languages are generally used throughout the galaxy.

Selenian Anyone (Primarily from Sol) An older language; primarily spoken on Earth's only natural satellite, this language is commonly heard from the mouths of aristocracy. SL ,2
Gutter Criminals Much like Common, this crude pidgin tongue originated on Pluto, descending from numerous languages and serves as a trade language for criminal elements. GT ,3
Sign Language Anyone A sign language commonly used for those who are deaf or mute. HS ,s

SEV Torch

These languages are spoken primarily by the races you'll encounter aboard the Torch- friendly or otherwise.

Serpentid G.A.S A strange language that can be understood both by the sounds made and by the movement needed to create those sounds. SD ,n
Independent Anyone The official language of the Terran Colonial Confederation, evolved from a pidgin of Eastern European languages and English. IN ,r
Spacer Anyone A pidgin language spoken by haulers, merchants, traders, travellers, and cocky fly-boys across the galaxy. SP ,v
Rootspeak Dionaea A complex language known instinctively by Dionaea, 'spoken' by emitting modulated radio waves. This version uses high frequency waves for quick communication at short ranges. RT ,q

Outsiders

These languages are primarily spoken by those not usually onboard the Torch.

Hiveminds

In addition to traditional languages which use sound or movement, some species are able to communicate via "Hivemind"- something similar to telepathy. These communications are typically not recognized or even noticed by those who aren't part of the hive.
